What is best way to get out from midweek slumps rather than struggling with this insane game? Yes midweek blue is real it is extremely exhausting to continue the work at mid week. It is scientifically proven that human being can’t continue the monotonous work after 48 hrs. So in this midweek challenge you definitely need a mood booster! You need a refreshing change in your daily life, but what can we do in the middle of the week, in the middle of pending work? You seriously can’t take break; you wouldn’t think about switch off your work schedule, so you can try these sleek Psychological Thrillers to get a crispy change in your mood, let’s not made much ado and start talking about why I am recommending these two.

Have you heard about author Frieda Mcfadden? The new sensation in Psychological Thriller section! She knows how to brew the story with the right kind of salt and pepper, suspense, and twist. She knows when to hold and when to let loose the grip, as I was already admitted she is my favorite New author of this year, here I am again with her 2 other works. These two might seem like series but one can read them as stand-alone as well, only the main protagonist is same but the plot is totally different.

Millie desperately wants a fresh restart of her life, she can do any kind of job because she is not in a position to demand, she grabs the opportunity to work in Nina Winchester’s house, she would be appointed as Housemaid in Nina’s dazzling house. Millie was excited, little did she know that she would be given a room to stay in attic and her bedroom only be locked from the outside. Nina is messy, tells lies, and always wears pristine white dresses. Her husband Andrew is an absolutely dreamy combination of handsome and sweet, Millie thoughts why on earth Andrew married Nina? But it’s not her headache, she is happy that the Winchesters don’t know about her reality, Millie doesn’t know others also have deadly secrets in the attic closet room.

Despite being a psychological horror, the whole book was slow most of the time, it only started to grasp your breath after the first half of the book. The last 2 ending twists was absolutely jaw-dropping master strokes but the only loophole is how could someone be so naive to wait for a decade? And Nina’s ending plan was so beautifully well crafted that proves she was intelligent, then why she was waiting?

Over all it was an eccentric psychological horror thriller.

In the second book, the author discusses Millie’s background history which I feel heart touching and brave, I really liked this girl. Here Millie again searching job and got a housekeeping job at Tech Millionaire’s penthouse. Unbelievable twists and turns swoosh through the whole story and never let you sit comfortably.

Millie is relaxed that Garrick didn’t ask her past and easily gave her the job.

But the real twist is when someone uses reputation to set a trap and frame Millie for something dangerous. Really it’s a warning, a blood-chilling vibe goes down through my spine while reading it. It’s an absolutely slick psychological mystery with lots of twists that make the book a turner and one hell of a book that you wouldn’t want to get out of it.

I must say in the first book I found Millie a little bit nosy and annoying but in the second book, she seems composed and grounded. I am happy she didn’t lose her sharpness and I guess a little ageing would be looking good on her.

Housemaid’s Secret has some really shocking twists and some happy turns, so tight your seat belt for an utterly zip-zap zoop psychological thriller ride full of unexpected turns.

So which one you want to go with first?
